Regulations of enrollment

Daugavpils Music secondary school (henceforth DMSS) admits to Music school children – permanent residents of LR at the age of 7-11 for acquiring the education programme of professional field.
DMSS admits students into the following education programmes:

  • Key instrument play (piano, accordion);
  • String instrument play (violin, cello, viola, double bass, kokle, guitar);
  • Wind instrument play (flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpete, tuba, French horn);
  • Percussion instrument play;
  • Choir class.

The studies in DMSS are held in the Latvian or Russian languages.

To enter DMSS, the following documents are necessary:

  1. parents’ application (if filled at school);
  2. a copy of the birth certificate;
  3. medical reference.

Childrens’conformity with education programmes is determined during the entrance examination;
The entrance examination is valued according to the system of 10 points;
Children are evaluated by the admission commission during the entrance examination, which is approved by DMSS headmaster;
Children are admitted on the basis of competition. The competition is held according to the total number of points, received during the entrance examination;
The results of the entrance examination are entered in the minutes, which are signed by the members of the entrance commission;
On the basis of the entrance commission decision and submitted documents, DMSS headmaster makes a decree on a pupil’s admission to DMS  within 2 days;
Implementation of the education programme begins on 1 September;
The pupils who do not begin to study at the educational institution within the first 10 days without justification get dismissed from the pupils’number.
Submission of documents and consultations are held from 14 May to 28 May;
The entrance examination – on 29-30 May;
